While you get up to speed on the Workday implementation across the UW System, take some time to get to know the Administrative Transformation Program all-star team members who make our work possible. For this first in a monthly series, we’re sitting down for a Q&A with ATP’s Event Manager, Frank Hoppe.

What’s your hometown?
I was born on the south side of Milwaukee but grew up in Fredonia, WI (pop. 1,500), which is home to Flag Day and one of the newest Brewers, Owen Miller.

How long have you worked in the UW System, where, and in what roles?
I’ve been at UW-Madison since 2004. Before ATP, I worked with the Division of University Housing as a Conference Services Assistant Director, as well as the Event & Facilities Manager for the Gordon Dining & Event Center.

What’s your role and team on ATP?
I became the Event Manager in October 2019 and moved to the Operations Team in 2020. My main role is to secure resources for in-person and virtual meetings, events, retreats, and other program functions. In addition, I manage the reception desk operations, including supervision of our student desk assistants.

Why did you want to work for ATP?
I am excited to be a part a worthwhile project that will improve campus operations and benefit the UW System as a whole.

What’s a fun fact about you?
In addition to UW-Madison, I attended and/or worked at four other institutions: UW-La Crosse, Minnesota State University-Mankato, Western Michigan University, and the University of North Dakota.
